The wi-aislist is designed to facilitate interactive, electronic communication among the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), educators, and others with an interest in the history, culture, and tribal sovereignty of the federally-recognized tribes and bands in Wisconsin.
DPI will use this listserv to:
- send routine correspondence, conference announcements, notices of meetings, etc.
- share information regarding American Indian Studies Program, Content and Learning Team, and related DPI activities.
- send information regarding American Indian Language and Culture Education grants.
- send notices of major additions to the web pages for the DPI American Indian Studies Program and Content and Learning Team.
The listserv is also a forum for educators to discuss issues related to American Indian Studies and the education of American Indian students. It can be used to direct questions to the group, share experiences and insights, post lesson plans, send reviews of books, videos and other instructional materials, and virtually any other purpose consistent with the goals of the listserv.
The listserv is open and unmoderated. Any educator with an interest in American Indian Studies or the education of American Indian students is welcome to subscribe.
The listserv is designed to serve and promote dialogue among educators at all levels and in all capacities, i.e., Head Start, K-12 (public, tribal, or private), Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESAs), colleges and universities (especially schools of education).
